At CombiniCo, we believe the ability to adopt environmentally positive practices doesn’t have to be comprised in order to provide convenience.
Being an environmentally conscious brand is one of our core values that pushes us to improve our operations and set ourselves better standards of environmentalism compared to what is currently expected in our industry. We aim to continuously improve our operations to be more sustainable and hope this encourages other food companies to do so as well. Since opening, we have taken a number of steps in order to find innovative ways to reduce our food and landfill waste.
Recyclable and Compostable Packaging Solutions
At all of our locations, we aim to use packaging that is 100% recyclable or widely compostable, from our BiniBowl™ containers and take-away coffee cups to even our fully compostable cutlery.
At CombiniCafé we exclusively use reusable Huskee Cups for sit in customers, made completely from the husks of coffee beans. As well as being 100% sustainable, old and unwanted Huskee cups are sent away and repurposed into new cups giving them a new lease of life. For those who want their very own Huskee Cup, we offer them for purchase online which can be collected in store.
To further encourage sustainability at Combini, customers who use their own reusable cup at CombiniCafé receive a 5% discount on all of our freshly made hot and cold drinks.
Healthy Food Choices
CombiniCafé is 100% vegetarian with many vegan options helping reduce our carbon footprint. We offer a variety of Japanese and Korean inspired teas and coffees as well as freshly made smoothies, salads, bagels, tea-infused yogurt and oat pots.
At Co. we sell a variety of healthy products inspired by our Japanese and Korean heritage. Our products are convenient, delicious, and ready to go and include a variety of BiniBowls™, sushi, salads and gyoza. This year, our aim is to offer a menu that encompasses a wider variety of vegan options.
Ethically Sourced Produce & Partnerships
For our online customers, we partnered with EcoEats who work with local restaurants to deliver food to your doorstep. EcoEats avoid wasting single use packaging items which billions of UK takeaways do each year. Instead, they aim to eliminate plastic waste and provide a zero-emissions service by travelling by an electric car or bike.
As for our produce, we partner with a variety local suppliers such as Dundee Dairy Co who provide us with our super-creamy oat milk which is pressed from British and Scottish oats. Our fish is also locally sourced, delivered fresh every morning from the Outer Hebrides.
We love working with local suppliers that allow us to offer high quality products to our customers while sharing our environmentally conscious values.
